Verona looking to save themselves against Como
A match point in safety for Verona who are hosting Como at the Bentegodi: with three points, the Venetians would be mathematically safe. However, Fà bregas’ side will do all they can to continue their winning streak.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
After a 3-2 win in the reverse fixture on September 29th, Como could win both of their games in a Serie A season against Hellas Verona for the first time in the top-flight. Como are unbeaten in their last six Serie A games against Hellas Verona (W2 D4) and could avoid the defeat in seven successive games against a single opponent for the first time in the top-flight. Hellas Verona are unbeaten in five of their six Serie A home games against Como (W3 D2): all between 1976 and 1988, although they have failed to score in their last two matches (D1 L1).
DID YOU KNOW?
Hellas Verona have only won one of their last 12 league games at Bentogodi (D4 L7): 1-0 against Fiorentina on February 23rd; the Scaligeri have failed to find the net in eight of these 12 home matches (scoring only four goals). Como are only the second newly-promoted team in Serie A history to win at least six games in a row in a single season, after Lazio between February and April 1973 (eight in that case). Based on 2025 only, Como would be playing for a place in the European competitions; this calendar year they are in 8th place in the Serie A table with 30 points in 18 games (W9 D3 L6). On the one hand, Como (27 goals, level with Napoli) have scored the fourth-most second half goals in Serie A this season, behind only Atalanta, Milan (both 29) and Inter (28); on the other hand, Hellas Verona (seven goals) have netted the fewest such goals this season.
PLAYERS
Hellas Verona have scored their last seven Serie A goals with seven different players (excluding own goals): Tengstedt, Tchatchoua, Bernede, Mosquera, Duda, Sarr and Coppola. Gabriel Strefezza has scored in his last three league appearances, he could become the first Como player to score in four consecutive Serie A matches in the three points for a win era (three also Assane Diao in February 2025). Hellas Verona are the opponent against which Patrick Cutrone has scored the most goals in Serie A: four, including his only brace for Como in the top-flight, on 29th September 2024.
