Verona looking for three big points against Genoa

Verona are aiming to extend their three-game unbeaten run to put further distance between themselves and the relegation zone. The Rossoblù, meanwhile, are on the hunt for tenth spot

Hellas Verona and Genoa will meet at 15:00 CEST at the Bentegodi in a clash that will be played at the same time as Fiorentina vs. Parma. After getting the better of Udinese, the hosts drew with Parma and Torino to move away from the relegation zone. With another positive result, Zanetti’s side would put themselves in a very good position to avoid the drop. This isn’t something that Vieira’s side are concerned about: having moved clear of the bottom three, Genoa’s eyes are on tenth place.

After the 2-0 in the first leg on 1 September, Hellas Verona could win both seasonal matches against Genoa in Serie A for the first time. Genoa won their last away match against Hellas Verona in the league (2-1 on 7 April 2024) but have never achieved two away wins in a row against the Scaligeri in Serie A.

Amin Sarr's last five goals in the Big-10 European leagues have all come away from home, including all four in Serie A this season; he has not scored in a home league match since 22 January 2023 (a brace for Heerenveen against Groningen in the Eredivisie). In the last two seasons - since Ruslan Malinovskyi’s arrival in Genoa (from 2023/24), Genoa have won 36.4% of Serie A matches when he starts (8/22), while without the Ukrainian player from the first minute, the Grifone's percentage of successes drops to 27.7% (13/47).
