Torino and Como aiming high

Both sides look to extend their winning runs as they set their sights on climbing further up the table.

Torino and Como meet on Matchday 9 of Serie A, with both teams looking to build on their recent form. The Granata are eager to see just how far they can go after three straight wins over Udinese, Parma and Monza. A fourth consecutive victory against Como could give them every reason to aim even higher. Fabregas' side, however, have ambitions of their own. Buoyed by back-to-back wins over Fiorentina and Sassuolo, they are chasing a third straight victory to cement their place in the Champions League spots.

HEAD TO HEAD

There have been 20 previous competitive meetings between the two sides in Turin: 13 wins for Torino (most recently 1-0 in Serie A 2024/25), 5 draws (most recently 0-0 in Serie A 2002/03) and 2 wins for Como (most recently 5-1 in Serie A 2025/26).

This will be the first official meeting between Ignazio Abate and Cesc Fabregas as coaches.

Rafik Belghali scored against Monza: it was his 1st goal of the current league season for Torino. He had not scored at club level since 6 December 2025, in Verona-Atalanta 3-1.

Nikola Vlašić scored against Monza: it was the Croatian midfielder’s 1st goal of the current league season. He had not scored for Torino since 26 April 2026 (Torino-Inter 2-2, Serie A).

Anastasios Douvikas scored against Sassuolo: they were his 4th and 5th goals of the current league season. With his brace last Saturday, he became Como’s highest-scoring foreign player in Serie A history with 21 goals, overtaking Nico Paz on 20. The Lariani’s number 9 is also now 4 goals behind Zisis Vryzas, who leads all Greek players in Serie A history with 25.
