Serie A Enilive, Matchday 31: Easter twists and turns

Results, goal and stats from Matchday 31 of Serie A: Inter dominate, Napoli chasing close behind, Champions League and Relegation battles wide open

Inter shine again after a convincing win over Roma, while Napoli continue their good form beating Milan and remain in the race for top spot. Behind them, the race for Europe is still all to play for, full of surprises. Juventus and Atalanta keep moving the table around the European spots, while Como slow slightly but continue their unbeaten run. At the other end, Fiorentina pick up crucial points and gain an edge over their direct rivals, with Cagliari, Verona and Cremonese all in the relegation battle. The Easter fixtures, in terms of numbers, have tightened the standings and made every area of the table even more competitive.

Sassuolo-Cagliari 2-1

Sassuolo came from behind in the second half, after Esposito’s penalty gave Cagliari the lead in the first half. The Emilia-Romagna side turned the game around with Ulisses Garcia’s first ever Serie goal, from long-range, followed by Pinamonti, who scored for the second consecutive match. The win ends a three-game winless run for the Neroverdi and marks the first time in their Serie A history that they’ve beaten Cagliari twice in a single season. Notably, 2007-born Bakola also provided an assist, becoming the youngest player since Camarda to contribute to a goal this season. For Cagliari, this is their fourth defeat in a row.

Verona-Fiorentina 0-1

Fagioli’s late goal earned Fiorentina three crucial points after a game that remained evenly contested for over 80 minutes. The Viola continue to build their case for survival in 2026, having collected 23 of their 36 points this side of New Year – the highest percentage in the league. De Gea was also decisive, making eight key saves, his second-best personal tally in Serie A. The win at the Bentegodi extends Fiorentina’s positive run, keeping them unbeaten in four matches and securing two consecutive away victories. For Verona, it was their third straight defeat without scoring.

Lazio-Parma 1-1

It ended all square at the Olimpico, reflecting both the flow of the game and the current form of both teams. Parma took the lead through Delprato from a set-piece. Lazio equliased late on through Noslin, once again decisive against the Ducali, just like the last time out, coming off the bench. Three goals in three appearances this season. With this result, both teams now have eleven draws, second only Pisa in the league.

Pisa-Torino 0-1

Torino patiently worked their way to victory, with Adams scoring the decisive goal just ten minutes from time, marking their third win in five matches under D’Aversa. Pisa, meanwhile, continue to struggle under Hiljemark, losing six of their last seven games and showing persistent problems in attack. The Granata also extended their strong record against newly promoted teams, suffering just one defeat in their last 24 matches (12 wins, 11 draws) and keeping 14 clean sheets.

Cremonese-Bologna 1-2

Bologna set the tone early, with Joao Mario and Rowe scoring within the first 15 minutes. The Portuguese midfielder’s opener, coming just 2 minutes and 6 seconds in, was the fastest goal of the season for the Rossoblù and the quickest ever conceded by Cremonese. Rowe continued his good form, scoring his second goal in three appearances after a slow start to his new chapter with Bologna. Bonazzoli pulled one back from the penalty spot late on, but Cremonese remain pointless and still winless at home in 2026. Bologna, meanwhile, secured their fourth consecutive away victory.

Inter-Roma 5-2

Inter took control early on with Lautaro Martínez’s lightning-fast goal after just one minute. Roma briefly equalised through Mancini, but Çalhanoglu made it 2-1 just before halftime and shifted the momentum, allowing the Nerazzurri to get off to a flying start in the second half. Inter turned up the tempo, with Lautaro completing his brace, bringing his Serie A tally to 131 goals, matching fellow Argentine Dybala. Thuram made key contributions with two assists, and Barella scored for the third consecutive match. Roma struggled under Inter’s pressure and couldn’t stay in the game, suffering their third consecutive defeat on the road.

Udinese-Como 0-0

In the Easter lunchtime fixture at the Bluenergy Stadium, Como’s winning streak came to an end, but their defensive solidity remains intact. The Larians are now unbeaten in seven consecutive away games - a Serie A record for the club. With 15 clean sheets, matching Inter, and just 22 goals conceded, Fabregas’ side continues to impress with their defence, ranking among the best in Europe’s top five leagues. Udinese, meanwhile, kept their second consecutive clean sheet, showing clear improvement at the back.

Juventus-Genoa 2-0

Juventus beat Genoa 2-0, moving ahead of Roma and closing in on Como in fourth place, now just one point behind. Just after the 15-minute mark, the Bianconeri were already two goals up thanks to Bremer, his 16th headed goal in 22 Serie A goals overall and his third against Genoa, his favourite victim, and McKennie, who matched his personal best from the 2020/21 season. Despite this, Juventus couldn’t fully put the game to bed, with David hitting the post early in the second half. Genoa had a chance to get back into the match, but Martin missed a penalty that could have made it 2-1, his fifth penalty miss this Serie A season (out of eight), more than any other team so far. The win also saw Luciano Spalletti become the fourth coach in Serie A history to reach 300 victories, joining Giovanni Trapattoni (352), Massimiliano Allegri (320), and Nereo Rocco (302). For Genoa, it was the first time since April 2025 that they lost consecutive Serie A matches without scoring, leaving them needing to fight for survival.

Napoli-Milan 1-0

Napoli saw out their win with composure and patience, finding the decisive goal late through Politano, who came off the bench. The Partenopei notched their fifth consecutive victory and extended their unbeaten home run to 26 matches, the longest streak among Europe’s top five leagues. Politano once again proved a thorn in Milan’s side, having now scored seven Serie A goals against them, and he continues his strong form with four goal contributions in the last four games. For the Rossoneri, struggles up front resurfaced, highlighted by an Expected Goals tally of just 0.47, one of the lowest of the season for the Diavolo.
