Serie A, Matchday 30: All to play for

Results, goals, and stats from Serie A matchday 30: title race wide open, European placements, and an exciting relegation battle

Serie A matchday 30 rewrote the script for the season with results that have put things back into the balance. The final scores this weekend have really put the cat among the pigeons. At the top, Inter’s title charge slowed, while AC Milan and Napoli both cut the gap to the leaders. Just below that, the fight for Champions League football now looks even more thrilling, with overtakes and solification. At the bottom, every point matters, as shown by Cremonese, who have relaunched their bid for survival and dragged Parma back into the scrap.

With eight games to go, the league campaign remains a test of nerves. The finer details will make all the difference, and the final outcome is still far from clear-cut.

Cagliari-Napoli 0-1

Scott McTominay’s early goal was enough for Napoli to beat Cagliari at the Unipol Domus and record their fourth consecutive victory. The Scottish midfielder now has 19 goals in Serie A appearances, equalling his record for Manchester United in the Premier League, with only a third of the number of games played. The Partenopei kept their first clean sheet after a run of eight straight games with a goal conceded. Cagliari, meanwhile, finished the game without a shot on target and slumped to their third defeat in a row. Key stat: Napoli have scored more goals in the first 15 minutes of games than any other team this season (10), a sign of the aggressive approach that Conte’s men employ.

Genoa-Udinese 0-2

Genoa and Udinese met in an intense and hard-fought encounter at the Ferraris. Second-half goals from Jurgen Ekkelenkamp and Keinan Davis saw Udinese record their first win without conceding since November. Davis now has double figures for goals this season (10) and is the fourth Englishman in history to do so in Serie A. Zaniolo was key as well; an assist for Ekkelenkamp’s opener saw him reach ten goal involvements (5 goals and 5 assists), his best-ever record in the top flight. Genoa were productive going forward, creating 15 chances, but they came away with no goals scored for only the second time at Marassi in the De Rossi era.

Parma-Cremonese 0-2

Giampaolo saw success on his debut in the dugout for the Grigiorossi. Cremonese beat Parma away from home to record their first league win after 15 outings without a victory. Second-half goals from Maleh (his first goal since 2021 - against Fiorentina) and Vandeputte (first Serie A goal) from a Vardy assist. The win also ends a run of six straight away defeats and puts Cremonese back in the race for survival. For Parma, on the other hand, it was the second consecutive loss following a good run of form.

Milan-Torino 3-2

It was an exciting and eventful game between AC Milan and Torino at San Siro. The Rossoneri’s win was further proof of the productivity in front of goal for the entire group; Pavlović, Rabiot and Fofana got the goals (just eight of their 20 goals in 2026 have been scored by the forwards). Pavlović netted from outside the box for the first time in his career, while Rabiot scored his first home goal of the season. Torino kept themselves in it through Simeone and Vlasic (perfect record from the spot, 6 out of 6 scored), but they suffered their third consecutive away defeat with at least two goals conceded.

Juventus-Sassuolo 1-1

Sassuolo held Juventus to a draw, which hampered the Bianconeri’s Champions League bid and left some regret for the hosts. Yildiz gave Juventus the lead, making history in the process: the first foreign U21 player to reach double figures in a Serie A season for the Bianconeri. Sassuolo responded through Pinamonti, who is looking increasingly lethal away from home (six goals in his seven away appearances this season). Locatelli missed a penalty late in the day, furthering their woes from the spot: Juventus are among the teams with the most penalties missed in Serie A this season (three). On the other hand, Murić saved his first penalty in Serie A.

Como-Pisa 5-0

Como put on a show at the Sinigaglia, as they saw off Pisa and consolidated their hold on fourth place. Fabregas’ men dominated. Five goals, five different goalscorers: Diao, Douvikas, Baturina, Nico Paz and Perrone. There is an air of attacking brilliance about the Lariani, who secured a fifth straight win for just their second time in their history (the first was in the ‘50s). Como are also the only team with two players on double figures this season: Douvikas (11) and Nico Paz (10). Furthermore, Baturina is one of the most prolific midfielders in 2026, having scored five goals since the start of the calendar year.

Bologna-Lazio 0-2

A lone Zappacosta goal was enough for Atalanta to beat Verona and relaunch their European bid. The Italy wideman netted his third goal this season, all of which have come at home, and confirmed that he is one of the most productive full-backs in 2026 (only Dimarco has more goals). La Dea continued to build their home form: with 25 points in ten home games since Palladino’s arrival, the best record of any team. In the meantime, De Roon made club history, as he became Atalanta’s highest appearance-maker in all competitions (436).

Atalanta-Verona 1-0

Lazio continued their run of form, making it three straight wins with an away victory over Bologna. Taylor scored a brace; since arriving in January, the Dutchman has already scored more than he had for Ajax in the first half of the season (two). The youngster Motta was also decisive, as he made a penalty save at just 21 years and 68 days old; the last goalkeeper to save a penalty at this age or younger in Serie A was Donnarumma in 2019.  Bologna, thereby, missed a chance to get back into it, as Orsolini missed his second penalty in his last three attempts.

Roma-Lecce 1-0

Against Lecce, Roma record a narrow win thanks to youngster Robinio Vaz’s first Serie A goal. He has become the second played born in 2007 and later to score in Serie A, after Camarda (2008). Europe-wode, the former Marseille man is, alongside Yamal and Vuskovic, one of just three players born since 2007 to have scored at least five goals in Europe’s Top-5 leagues this season. The Giallorossi built on their solid home form (eight clean sheets at home, a joint high alongside Como. They are still in with a shout for Champions League football, as they drew level with Juve in fifth. Lecce, meanwhile, continued their woes on the road: six defeats in their last seven away outings.

Fiorentina-Inter 1-1

Fiorentina and Inter played out a back-and-forth 1-1 draw with a nervy finish at the Franchi. Pio Esposito opened the scoring after just 40 seconds, scoring his second straight goal and confirming his status as one of Inter’s finest young goalscorers in recent history. Fiorentina reacted after the break through Ndour but also came close to letting a point slip late in the day, but De Gea made an extraordinary save to deny Pio Esposito. Inter are now without a win in three games but are still the best-performing side away from home in Europe (34 points). For the Viola, it was the fifth game without defeat in all competitions.
