Serie A Enilive, matchday 29: the importance of the details
Matchday 29 of Serie A Enilive was played on a knife-edge and made one thing clear: at this stage of the season, every detail can shake up the league. A single incident, a flash of individual brilliance, or a goal in the opening minutes was enough to swing matches and the standings. Inter extended their lead despite failing to win, AC Milan stumbled and lost ground, while Como, Juventus and Napoli all moved forward with intent. Further down, Fiorentina made the most of a six-pointer and gained some breathing space above the relegation zone. Amid it all, personal stories and stats painted a picture beyond the results: from the 600-point milestone reached by Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri, to young players stepping into the spotlight, and others rewriting small records game after game. It was a matchday that settled nothing; if anything, it left the table even more open and unpredictable.
Torino-Parma 4-1
Torino delighted their home crowd against Parma with a rampant attacking display, netting four goals. The game got off to a lightning-fast start: just 2 minutes and 6 seconds in, Giovanni Simeone put the Granata ahead with their fastest goal of the season. Parma hit back through Mateo Pellegrino, who nodded in his fifth goal of the campaign – no one has scored more headed goals in the Italian top flight in 2025/26 – but Torino turned it up a notch in the second half. Ilkhan restored their lead, Keita’s own goal effectively settled the contest, and Duván Zapata sealed the win with a stoppage-time strike from outside the box, only the second time (out of 127 goals) he’s scored from distance in Serie A. It was Torino’s second successive home victory, while Parma’s five-game unbeaten run came to an end.
Inter-Atalanta 1-1
At San Siro, Inter were held to a draw by Atalanta, taking a single point that slowed their momentum but, thanks to Sunday’s match in Rome, allowed them to extend their lead at the top. The Nerazzurri made a strong start and went ahead through Francesco Pio Esposito, who scored his fifth goal of the season: at 20 years and 259 days, he became the youngest Inter player to hit that mark in a single Serie A campaign since Mario Balotelli in 2009/10. Atalanta equalised in the closing stages through Nikola Krstovic, who continues to impress in 2026: with six goals since the start of the calendar year, he is second only to Malen and has drawn level with Scamacca at the top of La Dea’s 2025/26 scoring charts in the league (eight). Notably, Nicolò Barella now has six assists to his name, more than any other midfielder in the Italian top flight this season.
Napoli-Lecce 2-1
Napoli kept up their momentum, claiming a third consecutive win as they came from behind to beat Lecce. The game got off to a surprising start: Jamil Siebert scored after just 2 minutes and 10 seconds, the second-fastest goal ever for the Salentini in Serie A since the league returned to 20 teams. Napoli’s response, however, came through Matteo Politano, the standout performer: the Italian set up Rasmus Højlund, who returned to the scoresheet at home in the league and reached double figures for the season, before netting the decisive goal himself. With this victory, Napoli have now recorded twelve wins by a one-goal margin – more than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues. Furthermore, following Politano’s goal, the Partenopei have now had 19 different scorers this season, the highest number among the top five European divisions.
Udinese-Juventus 0-1
Juventus claimed a narrow but vital win in Udine, making it two wins in a row with clean sheets. Jérémie Boga, now on a three-game scoring streak, settled the game and helped the Bianconeri strengthen their position in the race for Europe. Kenan Yildiz once again made a key contribution: with nine goals and six assists, the Turkish talent has become the first Juventus player since the league expanded to 20 teams (in 2004/05) to register at least 15 goal contributions in a single Serie A season before turning 21. Meanwhile, the slump continues for Udinese, who have lost four of their last six games.
Verona-Genoa 0-2
Genoa ended their wait for an away win in 2026, defeating Hellas on the road. The deadlock was broken by a brilliant long-range strike from Vitinha, who scored in back-to-back Serie A appearances for the first time in his career. Late on, the visitors doubled their lead through Leo ØstigÃ¥rd, whose outstanding season continues: with five goals, he is the highest-scoring central defender across Europe’s top five leagues and the first in Genoa’s history to reach that mark in a single Serie A campaign. The Norwegian once again combined with Aarón MartÃn, who has provided four assists for him so far this campaign.
Pisa-Cagliari 3-1
At the Arena Garibaldi, Pisa finally ended a run of more than four months without a win, claiming just their second victory of the season by beating Cagliari. The game sparked into life with a penalty converted by Stefano Moreo, his first home goal of the campaign. Despite going down to ten men in the first half, the Tuscan outfit found fresh energy after the break thanks to a brace from Antonio Caracciolo, who – at 35 years and 258 days – became the oldest player to score a double for Pisa in Serie A. Raúl Albiol also made headlines, registering his first Serie A goal contribution in more than six years with an assist. Cagliari pulled one back through Leonardo Pavoletti, who came off the bench to score. The Sardinians have now netted nine goals from substitutes this season but remain without a win in five games.
Sassuolo-Bologna 0-1
The local derby between Sassuolo and Bologna was decided after just 5 minutes and 12 seconds, when Thijs Dallinga scored the Rossoblù’s fastest goal of the season. Bologna defended their lead well, securing a third successive Serie A away win and their fifth in all competitions. Sassuolo tried to fight back but once again struggled in the opening stages: nine goals conceded in the first 15 minutes make them the league’s most vulnerable side at the start of games.
Como-Roma 2-1
The clash between two of Serie A’s most ambitious sides turned into a night to remember for Como. Roma started the brighter and went ahead through a Donyell Malen penalty, taking his tally to seven goals in nine league games and making him the Giallorossi’s top scorer this season. However, the game shifted in the second half after Wesley was sent off, with the Lariani staging a fightback. Tasos Douvikas scored the equaliser to reach double figures in the league this season, becoming the first foreign player in Como’s history to do so and the first Greek to hit ten goals in a single Serie A campaign. In the closing stages, Diego Carlos completed the comeback, giving Cesc Fà bregas’ side a fourth consecutive win and propelling them into fourth place outright.
Lazio-Milan 1-0
At the Olimpico, Gustav Isaksen’s strike was enough to decide the clash between Lazio and AC Milan. The Dane scored his fourth Serie A goal of the season, equalling his personal record, and secured a second consecutive league win for the Biancocelesti. AC Milan, meanwhile, lost on the road for the first time this season and also failed to score, their first away league defeat without finding the net in over a year. The numbers also highlight a recent dip in form in attack, with just three goals scored in their last four games.
Cremonese-Fiorentina 1-4
Fiorentina earned a vital win in the relegation clash in Cremona, moving further clear of the bottom three with a dominant showing. The Viola set the tone through Roberto Piccoli, who delivered a complete performance: for the first time in his Serie A career, he scored and provided an assist in the same game, taking his goal tally this season to three (all away from home). The victory was rounded off by goals from Dodô, Albert Gudmundsson, and Fabiano Parisi, who netted his first of the campaign. Gudmundsson also notched both a goal and an assist in the same match for only the second time in the Italian top flight. David Okereke found the net for Cremonese, who have now lost four in a row and remain mired in the relegation zone.
