Pisa–Atalanta kicks off Matchday 21

Pisa host Atalanta as they look to climb off the bottom of the table, while the “Bergamaschi”  chase their fourth consecutive win.

Serie A Enilive Matchday 21 gets underway at the Cetilar Arena. Pisa, who recorded their only league win of the season on  November 7, have alternated between a defeat and a draw in their last six matches, the most recent being a draw against Udinese, and now need a change of pace to move off from the bottom. Atalanta, on the other hand, are managing to do just that: after a difficult moment, they have won five of their last six games and are now aiming for a fourth straight victory.

HEAD TO HEAD

The 13 official meetings in Pisa between the two sides are perfectly balanced: five wins for Pisa (most recently 2–1 in Serie B 1980/81), three draws (most recently 1–1 in Serie A 1985/86) and five wins for Atalanta (most recently 1–0 away in the Coppa Italia 2005/06).

Pisa have not beaten Atalanta at the Arena Garibaldi since 12 April 1981 (Pisa–Atalanta 2–1, Serie B), with goals from Bertoni and Cantarutti for Pisa after De Bernardi’s temporary equaliser.
