Both sides look to bounce back after defeats last week

Matchday 15 in Serie A concludes at the Olimpico with Roma hosting Como. The Giallorossi have suffered narrow defeats to Napoli and Cagliari in their last two games, drifting away from the top of the table, and now want to get back on track to climb the standings once more. Como also come into the game off the back of a defeat to Inter, which ended an impressive eleven-game unbeaten run, and will be looking for three valuable points to quickly regain momentum.

There have been 16 official meetings between the two sides in Rome: 11 wins for Roma (the most recent a 2–1 in Serie A last season), 4 draws (the latest a 0–0 in Serie A 1985/86) and 1 away win for Como (1–0 in Serie A 1949/50, the first ever match between the two clubs in the capital).

Como have won only once at the Olimpico against Roma: 1–0 on 23 April 1950, decided by a goal from Lipizer, with Andreoli missing a penalty for the hosts. Last season too, the reverse fixture between Roma and Como, played at the Sinigaglia, was held on 15 December: Como won 2–0 thanks to goals from Gabrielloni and Paz.

COACHES and PLAYERS

This is the third official meeting between Gian Piero Gasperini and Cesc Fabregas, after last season’s two Atalanta–Como Serie A clashes, which produced one away win each. Fabregas earned his first win as a coach in Serie A against Gasperini on 24 September 2024: Atalanta–Como 2–3, with goals from Strefezza, a Kolasinac own goal and Fadera for the Larians, and Zappacosta and Lookman scoring for the Nerazzurri.
