LOOKING AHEAD TO 2023
Returning to Serie A TIM 26 years after their previous appearance, Cremonese knew it would be a very emotional and exciting season, but also a difficult and complicated one. The Grigiorossi started with the handbrake on, also owing to their fixtures that put them up against Fiorentina, Roma, Torino and Inter in the first four games. The first point came in the fifth game, at the Zini in a 0-0 draw against Sassuolo. After that draw came six more, including the one in Bergamo against Atalanta and the one at home against the Italian champions AC Milan, meaning Cremonese currently have a seven-point tally that leaves them third from bottom in the table ahead of Sampdoria and Verona. Coach Alvini will now have time to work on all areas in order to improve from both an attacking (second worst attack with 11 goals scored and second worst for most offsides) and defensive (26 goals conceded, third worst defence in the league) perspective. After the break, the Grigiorossi will host Juventus on Wednesday 4 January at 18.30 CET, while on Monday 9 January at 18.30 CET they will visit Hellas Verona for a very important six-pointer.
FUN FACT:
Cremonese are still without a win in the league after 15 matches: in the history of Serie A TIM, only one team has ever managed to survive without finding a win in their first 15 matches of the campaign (Varese in the 1970-71 season).
**PLAYERS AT THE WORLD CUP:
** Vasquez (Mexico).
SCHEDULE DURING THE BREAK:
Cremonese will return to work on Monday 28 November and remain in Cremona.
