Lazio host Monza looking to stay top

Unbeaten Lazio aim to pick up where they left off, while Monza chase a second straight win.

Lazio host Monza knowing that victory would keep them at the top of the table. It has been an excellent start to the season for the Biancocelesti, who have won four of their opening five matches, most recently away to Venezia, and have also drawn with AC Milan. Monza, however, will be looking to spoil the party. They claimed their first win of the campaign against Sassuolo before the international break and will now be aiming to make it two in a row with a statement result in Rome.

There have been 13 previous competitive meetings between the two sides in Rome: 7 wins for Lazio (most recently 5-1 in Serie A 2024/25), 5 draws (most recently 1-1 in Serie A 2023/24) and 1 win for Monza (1-0 in Serie B 1985/86).

Monza’s only away win against Lazio in Rome dates back to 27 April 1986, in Serie B: a 1-0 victory, with Antonelli scoring the only goal.

Lazio are unbeaten in their last 7 matches against Monza in all competitions (at the Olimpico and the Brianteo): 4 wins and 3 draws. Their last defeat came on 27 April 1986 (Lazio-Monza 0-1, Serie B).
