Juventus in Salerno to stay close to Inter

Salernitana and Juventus face off in reversed roles three days after the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa match.

The battle for the title and the struggle to avoid relegation converge at the Arechi as Salernitana hosts Juventus. The Granata secured a victory last week (after four matchdays) against Verona and are eager for more points to climb out of the bottom of the table, initiating their ascent towards safety. Juventus, however, disagree as they aim to respond to Inter and secure another three points (marking the fourteenth consecutive positive result) to stay in close pursuit, ready to capitalise on any errors from Simone Inzaghi's team.

DID YOU KNOW?

Salernitana have won two of their last six league matches (D1 L3), including winning their most recent game, as many victories as they achieved in their previous 19 Serie A matches combined; the Granata have not achieved two consecutive wins in the competition since October 2022. Juventus have remained unbeaten in their last 13 Serie A matches (W10 D3), the longest ongoing unbeaten streak in Serie A – the Bianconeri haven’t had a longer run since March 2022 (16 matches, the last being a 2-0 win against Salernitana).

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Salernitana have failed to score more times against Juventus than they have against any other side in Serie (6 games); in eight matches against Juventus, they have scored only three goals while conceding 14. Salernitana have scored one goal in four home matches against Juventus, an average of 0.25 goals per match, which is their worst ratio against an opponent at home in Serie A.

Salernitana is one of the two teams against which Dusan Vlahovic has been involved in the joint most goals in Serie A (seven, level with Bologna), consisting of five goals and two assists in four matches; his last away brace in Serie A came against them in February 2023. Adrien Rabiot is the Serie A midfielder who has scored the most goals in all competitions since the start of last season (14, before the Coppa Italia match) – moreover, the Frenchman scored nine goals in 2023 in all competitions, a personal record for him in a single calendar year with a club from the Big-5 European Leagues.
