Como vs. Bologna, a direct clash

Como host Bologna as they aim for fourth spot, the Emiliani are looking to bounce back.

The first matchday of the second half of the season kicks off with a crucial clash between Como and Bologna. The home team has put behind their early December slump behind them by recording three consecutive wins, the latest against Pisa in the midweek round of matches. If they remain unbeaten in the next two matches, the Lariani could start dreaming big. The Rossoblù are seven points behind, having collected only two points in the last six games, and are eager to restart and get closer to the European zone… this could be the right opportunity.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

There have been 12 official meetings at the Sinigaglia between the two teams: Como have won nine (most recently 5–1 in Serie A 2002/03) and there have been three draws (most recently 2–2 in Serie A 2024/25).

Como have always scored at home against Bologna: 23 goals in 12 meetings.

DID YOU KNOW?

Como have not conceded for 299 minutes: three straight wins with a clean sheet. Their last goal conceded was scored by Wesley on 15 December (61st minute of Roma–Como 1–0 at the Stadio Olimpico).

Como are the joint-best defence in Serie A 2025/26, with 12 goals conceded, level with Roma.

COACHES and PLAYERS

It will be the fourth official meeting between Cesc Fàbregas and Vincenzo Italiano: Italiano has two wins and there has been one draw. Italiano’s teams have scored in every game, with five goals in 270 minutes overall.

Against Pisa, Anastasios Douvikas registered his second brace in Italy, after the one he scored in last season’s Coppa Italia (Como–Südtirol at the Sinigaglia). The Como striker, on eight Serie A goals, could become the third Greek player to reach double figures in the history of Italy’s top flight. The all-time Greek scoring chart is led by Zisis Vryzas with 25, followed by Panagiotis Konè with 14.

Jean Butez is the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in Serie A 2025/26 (9), level with Ivan Provedel.

Only Federico Dimarco (7) has provided more assists in Serie A 2025/26 than Nico Paz (6).

Only Mattia Zaccagni (61) and Marco Palestra (55) have been fouled more often in Serie A 2025/26 than Nicolò Cambiaghi (46).
