Cagliari vs Lazio: battle for vital points
The Sardinians are looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats to Roma and Lecce, setbacks that have called into question their push for league survival. Lazio, beaten by Atalanta last time out, are equally determined to return to winning ways and keep pace with their European ambitions.

There have been 43 official meetings on Cagliari’s home ground between the two sides: Cagliari have won 14 (most recently 1–0 in Serie A 2012/13), there have been 11 draws (most recently 2–2 in Serie A 2017/18) and Lazio have won 18 (most recently 2–1 away in Serie A 2024/25).
Cagliari have not won at home against Lazio since 19 May 2013: a 1–0 win (goal by Dessena), followed by 10 meetings with two draws and eight Lazio wins (six in the last six played at the Rossoblù’s home venue). However, that 2013 match was played at the Stadio Nereo Rocco in Trieste, so it was not in Sardinia. Cagliari’s last win in Cagliari against Lazio dates back to 24 February 2008, a 1–0 victory decided by Matri.
