AC Milan v Venezia kicks off Matchday 2

After a positive Matchday 1 victory over Torino, Milan make their home debut by welcoming newly promoted Venezia. Giovanni Stroppa faces one of his former clubs: the Venezia coach came through Milan’s youth academy and played for the Rossoneri first team from 1989 to 1991 and again in 1994/95, winning 1 European Cup/Champions League (1989/90), 3 UEFA Super Cups (1989/90, 1990/91 and 1994/95), 1 Italian Super Cup (1994/95) and 2 Intercontinental Cups (1989/90 and 1990/91).

Giovanni Stroppa scored just 7 minutes into his Serie A debut in Cesena-Milan 0-3 in August 1989.

Alphadjo Cissé scored against Torino: it was the Italian forward’s first Serie A goal. At 19 years, 10 months and 1 day, he became Milan’s 9th-youngest Serie A goalscorer since 2000.
