AC Milan head to Genoa looking to climb the table

AC Milan travel to Genoa after their derby victory, while the Rossoblù are chasing a fourth consecutive win.

Both sides are looking to maintain their good form and climb the table when Genoa host AC Milan at Marassi on Serie A Matchday 11. After a difficult start to the season, Genoa have found their rhythm, winning three straight matches against Venezia, Juventus and Lecce and collecting 12 points from their last five games. The Rossoneri, however, arrive full of confidence after their derby victory over Inter, who now sit four points ahead of them. That result helped the team put their home defeat to Bologna behind them and has brought AC Milan firmly back into the race for the Scudetto.

HEAD TO HEAD

There have been 61 previous competitive meetings between the two sides at Marassi: 16 wins for Genoa (most recently 3-0 in Serie A 2016/17), 22 draws (most recently 2-2 in Serie A 2020/21) and 23 wins for Milan (most recently 2-1 in Serie A 2025/26).

Milan are unbeaten in their last 8 matches away to Genoa: 7 wins and 1 draw. Genoa’s last victory came on 25 October 2016 (Genoa-Milan 3-0, Serie A), with goals from Ninković and Pavoletti, plus a Kucka own goal.

Genoa have won 3 consecutive Serie A matches: this had not happened since the 2020/21 season, when they beat Cagliari, Crotone and Napoli in succession. Looking at their last 5 matches overall, the Grifone have recorded 4 wins and just 1 defeat (Roma-Genoa 2-0 on 10 October).

Genoa have won 4 consecutive home matches: their last home game without a victory came on 19 September (Genoa-Frosinone 1-1).

Genoa have scored in 8 of their last 9 competitive matches: the only exception was Roma-Genoa 2-0 on 10 October in Serie A. They have scored 11 goals over that run.

Genoa are the only Serie A team in 2026/27 yet to score through a substitute.

Milan have scored more goals than any other team between the 61st and 75th minutes (10).

Only Monza (44.6%) have a higher percentage of shots on target than Milan (41.2%).

No Serie A team takes fewer corners than Milan (3 per match on average).
