AC Milan at Frosinone to get back to winning ways

Frosinone host Milan to justify that they have emerged from a difficult period. The Rossoneri aim to restart after a draw with Bologna

At the Stirpe, Frosinone and AC Milan face each other on Saturday 3 February at 18:00 CET. The home team, still recovering from five consecutive defeats, seek their third consecutive positive result to build on the victory against Cagliari two weeks ago and the draw in Verona in the last round. These four points have allowed Frosinone to move away from the bottom three positions. However, AC Milan have slowed down, drawing against Bologna last week. The Rossoneri halted a four-game winning streak but aim to restart, hoping to take advantage of the match between Inter and Juventus the following night.

DID YOU KNOW?

Frosinone have scored 29 goals in 22 league matches this season, as many as they netted in the entirety of their previous Serie A campaign (29 goals in 38 MDs in 2018/19) – indeed, only in 2015/16 (35) have the Ciociari scored more goals in a single Serie A season. This game will see the team that has scored the most first half goals in Serie A this season (AC Milan, 24) take on the side that has conceded the most goals in the opening 45 minutes this term (Frosinone, 20). AC Milan and Frosinone are two of the four teams that have scored the most goals from corners in Serie A this season: both six, level with Juventus and Atalanta

HEAD-TO-HEAD

AC Milan are unbeaten against Frosinone in Serie A (W3 D2), only facing Pisa (12), Crotone and Lecco (both six) more often in the top-flight without ever losing. AC Milan have scored twice as many goals as Frosinone in five matches against the Ciociari in the top-flight: 12 v 6.

PLAYERS

Matías Soulé (nine goals in the current league season) could become the first player to score at least 10 goals in a single Serie A season for Frosinone (nine also for Daniel Ciofani and Federico Dionisi, both in 2015/16). Ruben Loftus-Cheek has scored five goals in Serie A this season, only in 2018/19 has he netted more in a league campaign (six goals for Chelsea). The Englishman has scored in his last two league appearances, the last AC Milan midfielder to score in three Serie A games in a row was Franck Kessié in July 2020, while excluding penalties, Mathieu Flamini in April 2013 was the last midfielder to do so for the club.
