Leonardo Bonucci in Toronto to promote ‘Made in Italy’

Lega Calcio Serie A continues its commitment – through the champions who have shaped the history of football – to promote Italian excellence together with ITA (Italian Trade Agengy) and MAECI (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation)

To strengthen economic and trade relations between Italy and Canada and to promote new opportunities for collaboration between the two countries’ business sectors: with this aim in mind, the Italy-Canada Business Forum was held in Toronto, an initiative designed to foster dialogue between businesses, trade associations and institutions, and to explore new market opportunities.

In support of this project, alongside the Italian Trade Agency and MAECI, Lega Calcio Serie A has fielded its Legend Leonardo Bonucci, with the aim of showcasing and promoting the very best of ‘Made in Italy’ through his example and with the determination that has always characterised him on the pitch. During the day, the former defender of the national team that won the European Championship in 2021 met with the leading Italian and Canadian officials in attendance, including the Italian Ambassador to Canada, H.E. Alessandro Cattaneo; the Director-General of MAECI, Mauro Battocchi; the Director-General of Italian Trade Agency, Lorenzo Galanti; and Catherine Fortin LeFaivre, Senior Vice-President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

Thanking the authorities and institutions present and extending his best wishes to those involved in the event, Bonucci emphasised the importance of organising this sort of initiative and working as a team with the aim of showcasing to the world the very best our country has to offer, together with the values of culture, tradition and innovation that have always set Italy apart on the global stage.
