Lega Serie A and Street Soccer Usa renew partnership

Lega Serie A and Street Soccer USA are proud to announce the renewal of their strategic partnership, extending the collaboration into its fourth year and reinforcing a shared long-term commitment to empowering young people through soccer, education, and community engagement across North America.

The partnership renewal builds on the legacy of the Teddy van Beuren Street Soccer Park and Learning Center, inaugurated in May 2023 at Community School 55 in the Bronx, New York City. The facility — funded by Lega Serie A — features two soccer pitches alongside a digital media and learning center designed to support both athletic and educational development for local youth.

The renewed agreement, announced on World Football Giving Day, represents another important step in Lega Serie A’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility vision, developed both in Italy and internationally, with a strong focus on social inclusion, youth empowerment, and raising awareness around the importance of giving back through the universal language of football.

“Lega Serie A has not only elevated the profile and quality of Teddy van Beuren Park, but it has done so with a personal touch and a level of respect for the people and the project that we could only dream of,” said Street Soccer USA Founder and CEO, Lawrence Cann. “It is that level of care of concern all around that has helped inspire our Where Goals Begin Campaign to replicate the concept nationally to 26 other locations by the end of 2026.”

“Renewing our partnership with Street Soccer USA represents much more than continuing a successful project — it reflects Lega Serie A’s long-term commitment to using football as a force for positive social impact,” said Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Lega Serie A. “Through initiatives like the Teddy van Beuren Street Soccer Park and Learning Center, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for young people, combining sport, education, and personal development. Football has a unique power to inspire, connect communities, and open doors for future generations, and we are proud to continue investing in projects that can make a real difference both on and off the pitch.”

The announcement coincides with World Football Giving Day, which Lega Serie A and Street Soccer USA are celebrating together with the involvement of Serie A ambassadors supporting the initiative and its mission of creating meaningful opportunities for younger generations through sport.

Over the past few years, World Cup winner Alessandro Del Piero and Ballon d’Or recipient Roberto Baggio have made surprise visits to the Bronx facility, engaging directly with local youth through on-pitch activities and personal exchanges. Building on this legacy, Lega Serie A remains committed to bringing additional football legends to the Park, creating meaningful and unforgettable experiences for participants involved in the program.

As part of the renewed partnership, Lega Serie A will continue supporting Street Soccer USA through dedicated career panels and educational sessions hosted at the media center. Featuring industry professionals and experts from across sports, media, technology, and business, the panels will explore evolving trends shaping the professional landscape — including the growing impact of artificial intelligence — while providing practical insights into careers in sports management, coaching, marketing, communications, and digital media.

Looking ahead, Lega Serie A and Street Soccer USA will collaborate on a series of targeted activations and community-driven events throughout the FIFA World Cup period and the upcoming Serie A season, with a particular focus on inclusion, fundraising initiatives, and social impact programming.

The partnership will also help broaden pathways into the professional world by creating internship opportunities and strengthening career development initiatives for young people involved in the program, supporting them in transforming their passion for soccer into concrete educational and professional opportunities.

Through initiatives like this, Lega Serie A continues to strengthen its role not only as a global sports organization, but also as an active platform for positive social change — using football to inspire, educate, and empower future generations both in Italy and abroad.
