EA SPORTS FC AND LEGA CALCIO SERIE A LAUNCH COMMUNITY FOOTBALL PITCH IN MILAN AS PART OF THE FC FUTURES GRASSROOTS PROGRAMME
The FC FUTURES pitch opening featured a special appearance by FC 26 Soundtrack Artist and Italian National Team forward Moise Kean who unveiled his newly designed Soundtrack Kit, now available in EA SPORTS FC 26.
EA SPORTS FC and Lega Calcio Serie A have officially opened a community football pitch located at Santa Maria Ausiliatrice parish in Milan. Designed as a safe and inclusive space, the pitch aims to increase participation, strengthen the local community and inspire a new generation.
The Milan FC FUTURES pitch at ASD Fides SMA (affiliated to CSI), launched today in the presence of Moise Kean and Lega Calcio Serie A legends Andrea Ranocchia and Ciro Ferrara, is the 21st FC FUTURES pitch to be established globally, marking a key moment in the initiative's evolution.
Milan becomes the symbol of a new phase of FC FUTURES, EA SPORTS' large-scale global programme that invests significantly in grassroots football. Through long-term investment in community facilities, scholarships and innovative training programmes inspired by in-game drills from EA SPORTS FC, the initiative expands access to football, fosters lasting engagement with the game and delivers meaningful social, cultural and sporting impact at the grassroots level.
“FC FUTURES is about more than football infrastructure - it’s about access, inspiration, and long-term impact,” said James Salmon, Sr Director, Partnership Marketing, EA SPORTS FC. “By partnering with Lega Calcio Serie A in Milan, we’re creating a space that empowers young people through football while showcasing how technology can help grow the game in meaningful ways: in the case of FC FUTURES, using gameplay to inform real-life training drills, uniquely connecting in-game innovation with on-pitch learning.”
The partnership between EA SPORTS FC and Lega Calcio Serie A has been further strengthened through the launch of year-long football scholarships aimed at supporting young players, with the goal of creating a sustainable and lasting impact within local communities. This investment confirms the shared commitment to growing the game through access, inclusion, and structural development.
"Supporting football from the grassroots level, from suburban pitches, is essential to fostering the growth of future champions and fans,” said Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Lega Calcio Serie A. “The inauguration of this pitch in Milan as part of EA SPORTS FC's FC FUTURES project is a concrete step in this direction, showing how synergies between the most important stakeholders in the world of football can bring resources to all levels, developing a virtuous circle that feeds the system. The presence of a current champion such as Moise Kean with two Serie A Legends, and their example, combined with the initiatives we will be carrying out in the coming years, will give these girls and boys not only a beautiful pitch to enjoy and an indelible memory, but above all the tools to grow to their full potential as footballers, fans and people."
The renovated pitch was inaugurated with an exclusive event celebrating the intersection of football, music and culture. The opening was attended by Moise Kean, striker for the Italian National Team and ACF Fiorentina, as well as one of the artists featured on the EA SPORTS FC 26 soundtrack. To mark the occasion, an exclusive vanity kit co-created with the player himself was also unveiled. The kit is now available and unlockable via the Soundtrack Kits Bundle in EA SPORTS FC 26.
“It’s an honour to be here supporting FC Futures and seeing the impact grassroots football can have on young players. Launching this pitch is about creating opportunities and inspiring the next generation.” said Kean. “As the first active player to have a song featured in EA SPORTS FC, it’s been a great experience designing a Vanity Kit that’s available in-game and created especially for the kids at this event. It’s a proud moment to bring my football and music together.”
During the inaugural day, UEFA-certified coaches led training sessions that integrated EA SPORTS FC gameplay mechanics with real on-pitch exercises, transforming the gaming experience into an educational and football development tool.
This approach represents the heart of FC FUTURES, which is to blur the lines between the physical and digital worlds of football by using EA SPORTS FC as a concrete lever to increase participation in grassroots football and make learning more accessible, engaging and modern.
The pitch will host ongoing training and structured programmes designed to help young people achieve their goals and develop as individuals. One such programme is the 'Words on the Field' initiative, a social project offered in collaboration with the Parole O_Stili association, aimed at boys and girls aged 10 to 12, designed to promote a more conscious and responsible language culture both on and off the pitch.
