Inter vs Como: Who Will Reach the Final?
Everything will be decided in 90 minutes — or more — as the first finalist of the 2025/26 Coppa Italia Frecciarossa is set to be determined.
Inter and Como meet at San Siro for the second leg of their semi-final, aiming to break the deadlock that has held since the 0-0 draw in the first leg played in early March. The Nerazzurri reached this stage thanks to a 5-1 win over Venezia in the round of 16 and a 2-1 victory against Torino in the quarter-finals, with goals from Bonny, Diouf, Thuram (two each) and Esposito.
Como, chasing a place in the final for the first time in their history, began their campaign in the opening round, eliminating Sud Tirol (3-1), Sassuolo (3-0), Fiorentina (3-1) and Napoli in the quarter-finals (0-0, advancing on penalties). The Lariani have scored 10 goals in the competition, courtesy of Douvikas (3), Rodriguez (2), and Baturina, Da Cunha, Morata, Nico Paz and Sergi Roberto (one each).
If the teams remain level after 90 minutes, extra time and, if necessary, a penalty shootout will decide who advances.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
There have been 17 previous meetings in Milan between the two sides: 15 wins for Inter (the most recent a 4-0 victory in the 2025/26 Serie A season), one draw (2-2 in the 1991/92 Coppa Italia) and one win for Como (1-2 in the 1949/50 Serie A season).
Como have not scored at San Siro against Inter since the 2-2 draw in the Coppa Italia on 30 October 1991: Como’s second goal was scored by Mazzoleni in the 79th minute. Since then, their goal drought has lasted 281 minutes.
Como are coming off the back of 16 competitive matches without a win against Inter (at San Siro and the Sinigaglia): the record stands at 13 Nerazzurri wins and three draws. Como’s last victory dates back to 15 December 1985, a 1-0 win at the Sinigaglia in Serie A.
COPPA ITALIA FRECCIAROSSA
There have been a total of 10 previous encounters in the Coppa Italia (at San Siro and Sinigaglia), spread across eight editions of the tournament (1958, 1968/69, 1970/71, 1971/72, 1973/74, 1977/78 in the qualifying rounds, 1991/92 in the round of 16 and the current one in the semi-finals): the record stands at six Nerazzurri wins and four draws. The only knockout tie took place 34 seasons ago, with Inter progressing.
Como have equalled their best-ever performance in the Coppa Italia this year, in their 56th appearance in the competition’s history. The only time they had reached the semi-finals prior to today was in 1985/86, when they were subsequently knocked out by Sampdoria: a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Marassi, followed by a 2-0 walkover victory for Sampdoria at the Sinigaglia, due to incidents caused by the Como supporters, with the match suspended in the 97th minute (during extra time) whilst the hosts were leading 2-1.
Should they qualify, Como would reach their first Coppa Italia final. In the history of the Lega Pro National Cup, the Larians have won one title, beating Nocerina in the final of the 1996/97 edition, losing the first leg 0-2 away and overturning the result at Sinigaglia with a 4-0 win afterextra time (2-0 after 90 minutes).
